Perfect Gravy Every Time

Directions:

  1. Start with 4 tablespoons of fat left over in the pan after cooking meat (or substitute butter or margarine).
  2. Blend in 4 tablespoons flour over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  3. Slowly stir in 2 cups water and pan drippings.
  4. Boil gently five minutes.
  5. Stir in 1 teaspoon Gravy Master.
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste. Makes 2 cups perfect gravy.

Meatless Minute Gravy

Directions:

  1. Add one bouillon cube to two cups of boiling water.
  2. Over low heat, blend 4 tablespoons of butter or margarine with 4 level tablespoons flour.
  3. Combine the above and simmer gently for five minutes.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon Gravy Master and salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Makes 2 cups delicious gravy.

Quickie Brush-On

Directions:

  1. Combine 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce, 1 1/2 cups dry sherry wine, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil and 1 1/2 tablespoons Gravy Master.
  2. Use as is or heat if desired.
  3. Brush on poultry, meat or fish while grilling.

Sweet & Sour Sauce

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1/2 cup crushed pineapple with juice, 1/3 cup wine vinegar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed to measure, 2 tablespoons Gravy Master and 1 tablespoon prepared mustard.
  2. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Use hot or cold.
  4. Brush on pork, ham, or duckling while grilling.

Broiling and Baking Sauces for Chicken and Fish

Directions for Option 1:

  1. Combine 1 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup minced parsley, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1/8 teaspoon instant garlic and 2 teaspoons Gravy Master.
  2. Brush on chicken or fish while broiling or baking.

Directions for Option 2:

  1. Combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 tablespoon Gravy Master and 1/8 teaspoon seasoned pepper.
  2. Brush on fish while broiling or baking.

Bonus Brush-On

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup tomato juice, 1/4 cup catsup, 1/4 cup butter or margarine, 1 tablespoon Gravy Master, 1 small onion, peeled and grated, 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard and a dash of pepper.
  2. Mix and simmer over low heat 10 minutes until slightly reduced.
  3. Use hot or cold on hamburgers, steaks, chicken, or chops, brushing on while still grilling.
  4. Serve remaining sauce on side to be spooned over to taste.
